The Beau Peep Christmas competition has been officially resurrected. How about a pun-based take on famous movies? Come up with a twist on a famous movie title using a Beau Peep theme. For example, a chef goes missing in the Deep South during the American Civil War....EGON WITH THE WIND. Okay, that's awful and I'm sure you can come up with something better. The competition will close on the Monday, 10th of December and I will announce the winner shortly afterwards. The prize will be two, signed original pieces of artwork from Beau and Horace. Enter on this thread as many times as you like. Good luck!

Why is there a comma after *two*?

Why is the word *Mince* missing after the word *announce*?
-
A)...I have no idea. It certainly wasn't intentional.
B)...That was intentional.
-
A) It was obviously restless, and shuffled to the left from being bored after the word "signed".

What's with the asterisks in place of quotation marks? ..0
Excellent competition. Is it open to pedants?
-
Can someone make multiple entries to the competition?
-
Feel free.
-
Dennis of Thieves - Have you seen the 2018 film Den of Thieves, Roger? Okay, scrub that!
Sopwith's Tables - It's like Aesop's fables but . . . scrub that as well.
Vera of the seven vales - One woman's trek through multiple ...
Can I just win?
-
I'll start mine with some blatant cheating, as Roger's already spoofed these films especially for the strip:
Llandudno Jones and the Temple of Doom

Rambeau

BTW, Roger’s first post reminded me that if they ever do a modern remake of Gone With The Wind, they should consider having a character called 'Tourette Butler'. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a f***."
-
Nomad Max - he's back and he's just a little miffed.
-
I'd LIKE to comment but it's probably fairer that I wait until the closing date.
-
Don't suppose Khartoun would work again? (*nono*)

That's code for Mince is going to win.
-
A starter for 10...
Beau White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The Treasure of the Sierra Mad Pierre.
Bidet the Earth Caught Fire.
When Headline Harry met Sally.
Vera of the Seven Samurai.
Doris, Texas.
I may depend on your accent if these work or not. I remember Roger saying that the play on words for the 'Just a Fort' forum title here doesn’t really work for those north of the border. But if your pronunciation skills are fine and these don't work, don't worry, it's probably just because they're crap ;D
-
Well, they're better than mine, you annoying git.
-
Couple for starters......
20,000 (L’) Escargot Under The Sea
Sopwith’s Choice
Mad Pierre - Thunderdune
-
The Egon Has Landed
Escargot From The Planet Of The Apes
-
A few more, with the real title for the more tenuous ones...
Danger Escargot (Dangerous Cargo)
It's a Nomad, Nomad, Nomad, Nomad World
Beau Brother, Where Art Thou?
The Life and Death of Colonel Escargot (The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp)
East of Egon (East of Eden)
Dirty Headline Harry (Dirty Harry)
Tomorrow is another Bidet (Tomorrow Is Another Day)
-
Sopwith Out A Cause
-
Clutching at straws now...
The Longest Bidet
Bidet the Earth Stood Still
The Maltese Vulture
Beau Momma from the Train
-
Hasn't he judged it yet!
-
Results this evening.
-
Sorry I'm late...
'Little Shop Of Horace'
Byeeeeee!

Results this evening.
How much effort does it take to write "Mince has won."? I have my acceptance speech ready.
-
What constitutes evening?
-
Okay, here are the results.
Mince hasn't won. You've all seen his entries. They were awful.
Tarks had a brilliant entry and I loved it. Trouble is, he went for a Horace gag and the competition clearly states that it has to be Beau Peep related. Tough luck!
A commendable but surreal offering from Egg. "20,000 L'Escargots Under The Sea". What were you on?
Lovely entry from Diane and I was convinced that it would be the winner for a long time. Consider yourself extremely unlucky, Di.
Well, we now know that the winner is Rob Baker. The combination of quality and quantity tipped the scales in your favour. (As did the thought of postage to Canada!)
Rob, drop me an email or a PM with your postal address (Yes, I know, I have it somewhere but you know what my organisational skills are like). I will send off your prize in the next few days.
Thank you all for entering!
-
Congratulations Rob. (y)

Moretti.......I seem to recall!
-
Congratulations, Rob. I thought 'Danger Escargot' was sheer genius! So much so, that I entered a Horace title, knowing it was already a lost cause.
A worthy winner! Roll on next year's Mince whinge!

Or Beauretti?

I didn't want to win anyway.

I didn't want to win anyway.
I think we are all in complete sympathy with you there, Mincey. None of us wanted you to win either.
-
Yeah, not even that Helen-Keller wannabe judge.
-
Woohoo :) Cheers Roger!
I'd just like to thank my agent, my producer, the director and, especially, Google, who kindly provided me with a list of thousands of film titles from which I spent many productive hours poring over at work.
Well done to all who entered (y).
I'll send you my details Roger - thanks again.

Cheers Tarks - I was pretty chuffed with that one , I don't mind admitting!

Well done Rob (y)
